The Danish authorities told US President-elect Donald Trump’s team that they are ready to discuss the expansion of the US military presence in Greenland.
According to its sources, the Danish authorities sent a series of private messages to Trump’s representatives expressing willingness to discuss boosting security in Greenland or increasing the U.S. military presence on the island.
According to the report, the Danish government seeks to convince Trump that his security concerns could be alleviated without any territorial aspirations for Greenland.
The report cites a European diplomat, who noted that Denmark is considered one of the closest allies of the USA within the EU, and no one could have imagined it would be the first country with which Trump would pick a fight.
Speaking at a press conference in his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida earlier this week, Trump refused to guarantee that he will not resort to military force or economic coercion to resolve the Panama Canal and Greenland issues.
Previously, he claimed that the United States must take back the control over the Panama Channel and claimed that Greenland, a Danish autonomous region, must become a US territory.
Pentagon Deputy Spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said that she is unaware about any Washington’s plans to invade Greenland.

Gunpoint diplomacy?
It would be if the USA invaded Greenland by force but I doubt he will do that as he will lose Denmark’s approval of its actions where it has opened new American bases and Denmark buys US weapons .Donald can always default to sanctions as the EU is scared of the USA.
We will find out after Donald is made POTUS as he will be called in the USA whether it is all talk or not .
Past experience should have taught Denmark that once the USA gets in removing them is near impossible just ask Iraq/Syria/Japan etc ,you end up losing control of your own country . But Greenland wants full independence from Denmark as Denmark still control security due to the small population , it remains to be seen how much influence Donald’s “offer ” of a takeover will influence the residents . The USA already had military bases in Greenland before which turned into a disaster and led to the retreat of these (occupation) forces.
It still has an space airforce base C&A – Thule US Airforce base — aka- Pittufik space base but your right no outright military base.
That base is used strategically to track incoming missiles from Russia -satellite tracking is also used.
I see Uri Geller the well known admitted Zionist and ex IDF soldier has proposed building a US base in the Scottish islands –not if I can help it we got rid of their spy base in Edzell east coast Scotland- I visited it from outside the gate !
Good to get a confirmation of somebody who has a nearly unlimited vision and/or experience of how this world turns. Greenland’s population prefers autonomy above another US attempt to confiscate their real estate.
