Artificial intelligence will affect 40% of global employment in the future, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Artificial intelligence will affect about 40% of global employment, and up to 60% in developed economies, Golikova said at the SPIEF session dedicated to the labor market.

The effect will depend on adaptation institutions, she noted.

According to the deputy prime minister, artificial intelligence does not always lead to a reduction in employment.

Golikova added that more than 90% of employers in spheres of education, healthcare, finance, transport, telecommunications, transportation and storage noted that artificial intelligence is a key trend.

While its possible it wont add to the unemployment what it will do is add to the water shortage and as it rains a lot in Scotland the UK government wants to build AI data centres there.

So beware if you live in an area relying on ground water even if it helps local employment just look at the deaths in the USA caused by pollution involving Fracking its well established that the chemicals used cause Cancer in local US populations due to use of ground water.

In reference to my post above I have just been notified by a USA Class Action website that Noise pollution & Water contamination from Data centres near their homes is causing upset and ill health . The US has 4300 data centres –lawsuits have been filed against data centre operators apart from the noise the massive amounts of water used ( millions of gallons ) are not being properly disposed of and cause high levels of Nitrate pollution because they wont spend the money to filter the waste .
