Moscow is likely stationing new nuclear-capable hyper-sonic ballistic missiles at a former airbase in eastern Belarus, a development that could bolster Russia’s ability to deliver missiles across Europe, two U.S. researchers have found by studying satellite imagery.
Deployment of the Oreshnik would underscore the Kremlin’s growing reliance on the threat of nuclear weapons as it seeks to deter NATO members from supplying Kyiv with weapons that can strike deep inside Russia.

The Belarus Embassy declined to comment. The state-run Belta news agency quoted Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin as saying that the Oreshnik’s deployment would not alter the balance of power in Europe and was our response to the West’s aggressive actions.
Moscow tested a conventionally armed Oreshnik – Russian for Hazel tree – against a target in Ukraine in November 2024. Putin boasts that it’s impossible to intercept because of velocities reportedly exceeding Mach 10.
The Oreshnik deployment would come with only weeks left before the expiration of 2010 New START pact, the last U.S.-Russia treaty limiting deployments of strategic nuclear weapons by the world’s biggest nuclear powers.

Thanks for the answer Baronmaya I understand its just living in the UK every time a Russian ship travels in the North Sea or English channel its front page news that “Russia is spying on us ” or Russia is cutting our undersea cables etc building up the public for war and hatred of Russia.
The probable next step in this hype might be the Baltic Sea issue to cut off St>Petersburg shipping route, which is planned to be renamed as the NATO Sea to justify the evil cause?
They would need to break International Regulations of International Waterways and that would mean America/UK etc breaking the Law every time they passed through the Taiwan Straights .
It would also mean a blockage of access to international sea trade of a country that has started wars in the past.
Hypocrites, laws are made for slaves, the elite does what it wants, like sanctions and confiscations have become normal standards.
The International Waterways are owned by insurance company Lloyds, no insurance no passage.
That is why the Global South, Russia and China appear to be building alternatives, like the New Silk Road and Belt and Northern Passage.
