MV New Amsterdam is a cargo ship owned by TransProCon, which is part of Swedish Orient line. On 14 January 2022 the Dutch Ministry of Defense signed a contract to lease the ship for a duration of ten years.
She will be used for military logistics, such as strategic transport of military equipment and goods. During her lease Eemshaven will be the home-port of the New Amsterdam.

In the past the Dutch Ministry of Defense (MoD) occasionally leased ships for military logistics. However, increasing scarcity of such ships on the market has led to uncertainty and expensive leases.
New Amsterdam is a roll-on-roll-off cargo ship that can transport over sea a maximum of 75.000 kg and when moored a maximum of 150.000 kg.

HNLMS Den Helder is another new replenishment oiler of the Royal Netherlands Navy, supporting the US Navy blockade against Venezuela.

In 2017 a study started to look at the possibility of a new tanker to fulfill this task.

The decks are also strong enough to support tanks and other heavy material. In addition, New Amsterdam is also equipped with a 40 tons crane that has a range of 25 meters.

The local government does/t want American warships docking in Curacao, so the Dutch drop off military hardware, and replenished the US Navy @ Sea.
Doing this with a masked leased (civilian) cargo ship makes the move very suspicious indeed. This roll-on-roll-off Swedish owned ship males the conspiray even bigger?
