A JetBlue passenger airliner nearly collided mid-flight with a US military aircraft in the airspace of Curacao along the Venezuelan coast on Friday, the Associated Press and the New York Times have reported, citing radio communications and flight tracking data.
The incident occurred amid a US naval buildup in the Caribbean and US President Donald Trump’s threats to strike “Narco-terrorists” on Venezuelan soil.
JetBlue Flight 1112 reportedly encountered a US Air Force refueling tanker while traveling from Curaçao, a Dutch colonial island off the coast of Venezuela, on its way to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Twenty minutes after takeoff, the airliner suddenly lost altitude mid-climb. We almost had a midair collision up here, the JetBlue pilot was quoted as saying. They passed directly in our flight path … They don’t have their transponder turned on; it’s outrageous.
JetBlue spokesman Derek Dombrowski said on Sunday that the airline had reported the incident to the authorities.

US Southern Command spokesman Colonel Manny Ortiz said they were aware of the recent reporting regarding US military aircraft operations in the Caribbean and are currently reviewing the matter.
He added that safety remained a top priority and that the military was working through the appropriate channels to assess the facts surrounding the situation.

Normally the airspace should be closed after these kind of intrusions, but KLM and other flying pirate ships keep on delivering their settlers to the militarily occupied Caribbean Islands.
The same happened during to Covid-19 period, where the Dutch were the only ones still flying their ships to their colonies.
JetBlue is an US commercial airliner so I don’t think this was intentional from the US military, I think what we are witnessing here is the arrogance of the yankee in full display.
Frankly I don’t care what they do as long as it is on their own soil or territory. Putting those people in the Caribbean in danger with their bloodthirsty tactics is simply unacceptable.
I hope Russia or China or both will step up and send some military vessels of their own to the coast of Venezuela, that would cool off the orange guys head.
No need to, the US military can never invade Venezuela, if that was an option they would have do that 25 years ago. The only option card left remaining has also been spoiled, No narcotics, no oil, only another blockade, backed with unilateral sanctions.
