Participants in the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in the Indian capital called on Israel to withdraw its troops from Lebanon, according to a final statement by New Delhi, the current BRICS chair, published by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

The ministers recalled the agreement on a ceasefire in Lebanon and called on all parties to strictly adhere to its terms. They condemned the continued violations of the ceasefire and of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon.

Israel complains about Lebanon’s inaction against Hezbollah

They called on Israel to respect the terms agreed with the Lebanese government and to withdraw its occupying forces from all of the Lebanese territory, including the five sites in Southern Lebanon in which they remain, the document states.

The ministers highlighted the vital role played by the UNIFIL in Lebanon and agreed that it is essential to ensure the safety, security, and freedom of movement of all UN personnel and equipment, as well as to respect the inviolability of UN premises.

They condemned all attacks against UNIFIL installations and personnel and emphasized that such attacks are a violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, the statement pointed out.

Israel intends to stay in Lebanon under cover of saying –“we need a buffer zone ” as well as in Syria and arrogantly bases in Iraq – if thats not “Greater Israel ” I dont know what is why does this wee country hold so much power that the USA/UK etc protect it ??
