French anti-corruption authorities raided the Paris offices of Edmond de Rothschild bank on March 20 as part of an investigation into suspected public corruption tied to documents about Jeffrey Epstein released by the United States in January 2026.
The inquiry is focusing in part on Fabrice Aidan, a former UN diplomat who worked at the bank between 2014 and 2016. According to emails, Epstein acted as an intermediary between Aidan and the bank during that period.
Separately, CEO Ariane de Rothschild is reported to have exchanged financial advice emails with Epstein beginning in 2013. She was said to be present at the time of the raid.
The bank maintains it had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities and says it is fully cooperating with the investigation.

The bank’s board of directors has organized itself to independently monitor the situation, in addition to the work and analyses carried out by management, the bank told AFP in a statement, without specifying whether an investigation had started.
The bank has also admitted that de Rothschild had met Epstein several times between 2013 and 2019 in the normal course of her duties within the group and had no knowledge of Mr. Epstein’s conduct and personal behavior.
