The U.S. military announced that one of their F-15 fighter jets had crashed in the Sea of Japan near the island of Okinawa. The F-15 warjet was flying just south of Japan before it crashed into the East China Sea, 80 km off the coast of Okinawa.
The pilot allegedly ejected before the plane crashed; however, the condition of the pilot is still unknown. No further details have been released. The US fighter jet belonged the American Kadena airbase in Okinawa.
Lately general US military equipment has proven to be running behind in scheduled maintenance around the globe. Japanese coast guard and self-defense forces responded to the incident, reportedly dispatching an urgent rescue team to the crash site.
