Turkish firefighters are battling a fire that has consumed a scrub land near the southwestern resort town of Bodrum on Friday.
Fanned by strong winds, the flames threaten residential areas in Bagla neighborhood, 15 kilometers (9 miles) west of the Bodrum’s city center.
Two water trucks, several firefighter squads, helicopters and paramedics have been dispatched to the site as the forest rangers are also helping the squads.
The Bodrum peninsula is a popular holiday destination in southwestern Mugla province.
