Turkiye’s national carrier has announced a ban on Israeli and Iranian nationals boarding flights to Syria’s capital, Damascus, in accordance with guidelines ordered by the new Syrian government.

Earlier this week, Turkish Airlines announced its plans to relaunch flights to Damascus from 23 January on a schedule of three flights per week, in a decision to resume operations in Syria after 13 years of conflict.

Amid that resumption in operations and the reopening of remaining airports in Syria, how, the new Syrian authorities have reportedly implemented a new set of guidelines for passengers arriving in the country on international flights.

In a statement published by the terrorists who, with help of Israel, took over power after toppling of Assad, Turkish Airlines stated that certain rules have been established for passengers in accordance with recent decisions taken by the Zionist junta.

The Syrian Arab Republic authorities, announced certain rules that have been established for passengers entering Syria. The Turkish carrier revealed that citizens of all countries are welcome, except those from Israel and Iran which are not permitted to enter the country.

Syrian citizens with proper documentation which confirms their nationality would be allowed to enter Syria, it said, while Lebanese citizens would also be eligible if one of their parents is a Syrian citizen or if they hold a Syrian visa residence permit.

Members of the press are subject to special government permission Turkish Airlines stated.

Reasons for the decision were not specified, but it coincided with Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani’s landmark visit to Turkiye’s capital, Ankara, on Wednesday, potentially signalling some coordination on the issue.

Israel expands military annexation of Syria

The move is likely based on security concerns harbored by the new Syrian interim government, as Iran was a key supporter of the deposed President Bashar Al-Assad, while Israel continues to occupy and further encroach on Syrian territory in the south-west of the Arab country.

This makes nationals from both Tehran and Tel Aviv significant potential security risks for the new Zionist supported Apartheid regime.

That ominous admission threw further light on the potential pursuit of the Zionism’s “Greater Israel” project, which would cover Jordan, Lebanon, part of Egypt, Syria, Iraq and part of Saudi Arabia.

US military sends large convoy into Syria

The occupation state would claim the lands as its own and impose Israeli statehood on the local people, unless they too suffer ethnic cleansing as the Palestinians have.

We do not want any conflict whether with Israel or anyone else and we will not let Syria be used as a launchpad for attacks, Al-Sharaa told the Times in London earlier this month.

The Syrian people need a break, and the Israeli [air] strikes must end and Israel has to pull back to its previous positions.

However, Syria’s interim government, rather than having any genuine sympathy towards Israel and its actions, seems to understand the fact that Syrian forces have little to no significant military capabilities to counter the Israeli occupation forces, let alone to launch any kind of offensive to recapture occupied territory.

Given that Israel is reported to have destroyed around 80% of Syria’s air, land and sea defense capabilities, Al-Sharaa is taking a pragmatic approach.

For now, therefore, Syria’s administration is using a diplomatic hand to counter Israeli aggression, in the hope that the occupation state will not see Al-Sharaa and his colleagues as a security threat. The big question is: how will Israel respond?

Turkey occupies 12.5% of Syria, Israel only 1.5%.
The Turks are Syria’s real problem, Israel is actually helping the new Syrian Government stabilize and they know it.
Israel will stay in it’s expanded security zone. From the former Syrian peak of Mount Hermon, Israel can now see across the whole of Lebanon.
We are witnessing success after success for the Jewish army against all the Muslim armies that try to attack it.

Rubbish. It is the genocidal Zionist regime that is the real threat to Syria. It is not “Jewish” arms that are succeeding against “Muslim armies”, but US arms being used by the Zionists against defenseless populations. There is no army in Palestine. There was no army in Lebanon. The Syrian military was neutered by the Zionist compliant terrorists that have taken over.

Zionism is a criminal ideology that must be dismantled along with its colonial project. Every Zionist, pro-Zionist or filo-Zionist must go to jail.
Palestine will be free from the river to the sea, it will be a democratic, secular state, where all those who want to stay and all those who want to return can live under fair laws without any discrimination.
