The end is near for the ISIS terrorist group in east Sweida as they find themselves completely overwhelmed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies in this region of the country.
Led by the 3rd, 10th, and 15th divisions, the Syrian Arab Army has been rolling through east Sweida this afternoon, liberating several areas that were occupied by ISIS.
According to a military communique from the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Arab Army and their allies have liberated Rasoum Al-Tathmouni, Khirbat Al-Ambashi, Taloul Al-Haybriyah, Rasoum Maroush, Souh Al-Na’amah, Dhahrah Rashid, Zaribiyah, Khirbat Al-Shahriyah, Wadi Al-Ramliyat,Wadi Shajrah, Zamlah Nasser, Al-Nahiyan, Tal Al-Dhaba’, Tal Dhabi’iyah, and Qabr Al-Sheikh Hussein.
The communique added that the terrorist group’s main supply route to their forces on the Al-Safa Canyon has been cutoff by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.
ISIS is now on their last legs and will likely be unable to hold these remaining positions on the Al-Safa Canyon, as ISIS is pushed back to occupied Golan Heights.
For the Syrian Arab Army, this major advance comes as they attempt to negotiate the release of the 30+ civilians kidnapped by ISIS in the Al-Sweida Governorate.
ISIS has so far rejected the terms; however, they are fully surrounded and have little options to survive the onslaught should the Syrian Army push any further.
