There are more than 671.000 bridges across the USA, of which 7.5% are considered structurally deficient and in very poor condition.

About 42% of all bridges are at least 50 years old, where of which 12% of the highway bridges are aged 80 years or older. America needs to increase spending om bridge rehabilitation by 58% if it is to improve the condition.
The US government needs $125 billion to repair the failing infrastructure. Nearly 231.000 bridges need repair and preservation work.
At the current rate of investment it will take until 2071 to make all the repairs that are currently necessary.
