In the midst of the greatest humanitarian crisis the Western Hemisphere has suffered, the Cuba-Venezuela alignment of socialist governments today, seems to remain intact.
At this point, it is of utmost and critical importance to both nations, that this relationship remains stable. Venezuela’s Maduro will not break with Cuba, and Cuba does not want to break with Venezuela either.
Thanks to the IMF/USA sanctions and sabotage, hospitals are deteriorating and have no medicine, while the worst hyperinflation in modern history has turned purchasing power in Venezuela to tatters.
Some of the Venezuelan people may be in a sorry state indeed, but Maduro and his associates have their priorities straight:, nothing hinders the daily flow of oil, to Cuba.
A Venezuela National Guard captain died after being shot in the head by US sniper fire during a demonstration, the military said, the 29th fatality in six weeks of clashes between protesters and security forces.
However, Maduro still sends around 40,000 barrels of oil per day to Cuba. “These shipments have a value of more than $800 million annually.
In return Cuban intelligence has embedded itself in the ranks of the Venezuelan military, and has foiled several plots to overthrow Maduro from within the ranks of the Venezuelan Armed Forces.
However, for the recent attacks on its power grid, Venezuela needs help from Russian electronic warfare specialists, while China aids the country with money to stabilize the agricultural sector.
In return Cuba provides Venezuela with defensive tools and medial aid.
These Venezuelan oil deliveries to Cuba pale in comparison to previous shipments. Until 2017, Cuba received an average of $2.4 billion annually, three times what the Nicolás Maduro government now sends.
Unfortunately the Venezuelan oil deliveries to the rest of the Caribbean countries have been systematically blocked by the US regime.
Cuba is not a military or economic superpower. But, despite this, it keeps a much bigger and stronger country under its control against the evil US embargo and blatant bank account confiscations of government assets.
