A delegation of senior Israeli military leaders has held meetings with Egyptian military officials in Cairo as part of ongoing strategic consultations between the two countries, according to Israeli media reports.
Citing unnamed sources, the report said the meetings were part of a broader strategic dialogue focusing on Israeli regional interests.
According to the report, the talks took place amid efforts to advance the next phase of developments in the Gaza Strip within the framework of the US-backed post-war plan, while negotiations continue over Hamas’s future role and the issue of disarmament.
The meetings come after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated on Sunday that reconstruction of the totally destructed Gaza would not begin unless Hamas is dismantled and disarmed.
Meanwhile, Hamas has rejected Israeli claims that it is rapidly rebuilding its military capabilities, arguing that such allegations are intended to justify renewed military operations in Gaza.
In a statement issued last Sunday, the movement said Israeli accusations regarding its military preparations were aimed at providing a pretext for resuming the war despite the existing ceasefire.
Neither the Egyptian Armed Forces nor the Egyptian government had publicly commented on the reported meetings at the time of publication.

As I said in a previous article on Egyptian/Israeli relations they are built on benefit for both countries at the expense of morality/religion in the case of Egypt .
In Israel,s case its political keeping a big Muslim neighbour happy and splitting up neighbouring Muslim nations under the strategy of ” Divide & Conquer ” to further its avowed aim of “Greater Israel ” .
And it works with Egypt.
