Israeli members of Parliament have revised earlier legislation that allowed the PM Netanyahu and DM Lieberman to make a decision together to start any war.
At first the two Israeli main officials could have started a war without additional authorization, but after the failed (ISIS) missions in Syria and Iraq, war could be the next step for those two warmongers, so they got their exclusive powers stripped away from them.
Insiders say that this step does not guarantee any peace in the Middle East, because the IDF has its own power of attorney and can start a war without consent from Knesset.
Earlier, the power to declare war without Cabinet approval had been granted to the Israeli prime minister and minister of defense by an earlier Knesset decision from April 30 of this year.
According to that decision, the two ministers could declare Nuclear or Chemical War “in extreme cases, when there is no option to wait for a gathering of the required minimum of Cabinet members.”
The majority of the MP’s have reportedly voted in favor of a new law that delegates the alternative war power to the Security Cabinet — a forum of key government officials.
The vote passed amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, which Tel Aviv claims is trying to strengthen its positions in Syria, as well as between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas movement, as flaming kite attacks originating in the Gaza Strip continue to fall on Israeli territory and burn small pieces of occupied land.

Very good measure?
Good move, but will not change the impact of the daily airstrikes on Syria, Lebanon and Gaza.
