Israel’s military bombed villages and towns in Lebanon, a day after accusing Hezbollah of an attack in Majdal Shams, occupied Golan Heights.
Warplanes launched successive attacks on the outskirts of the towns of Aabbassiyeh, Tayr Debba and Toura in Tyre district.
Israeli fighter jets also targeted Burj el-Shemali and Tayr Harfa, leading to casualties and damage to property and infrastructure.
An Israeli drone launched two missiles at the town of Kfar Kila in the Marjayoun district while warplanes struck the town of Khiam after midnight.
Israeli authorities say at least 12 people were killed and 35 injured in a missile attack on the town of Druze in Majdal Shams in the northern part of Golan Heights.
The Israeli army accused Hezbollah for the attack, but the Lebanese group has no reason to bomb its fellow victims and people and denied responsibility.
Israel and Hezbollah have traded cross-border fire since the start of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, leading to fears of an all-out war.
So far, Israel has killed around 1.8% of Gaza’s population since 7 October, 2023 amid a devastating war on the enclave, according to figures released by the Palestinian Center Bureau of Statistics on Sunday.
But, according to international statistics, more than 100,000 people, including all the Israel hostages, have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7, 2023. This constitutes around 4.5% of the total population in the territory.
Most victims and hostages are still buried under the debris of the totally destroyed Gaza Strip. According to the center, around 24% of the Palestinian victims in Gaza were young people.
The Israeli army on Saturday killed another 100 civilians and injured dozens when a warplane targeted Palestinians performing Fajr (dawn) prayers at the Al-Taba’een School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, according to health authorities.
