Several Israeli ministers have vowed to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank following the decision by Britain, Canada, and Australia to recognize Palestine as a state.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for immediate annexation of the West Bank, urging Israel to completely crush the Palestinian Authority.
He said recognition of a Palestinian state by Western countries rewards murderers and requires a forceful Israeli response.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich echoed the call, declaring that the days of Britain and other countries determining our future are over, and insisted that annexation of what Israel terms Judea and Samaria must follow.
Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar dismissed the recognition as meaningless and accused the Western governments of antisemitism. The only response to this foolish declaration, is to impose Israeli sovereignty on Judea and Samaria.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Sunday that internal disagreements within the Israeli government are deepening after key ministers were excluded from sensitive discussions on how to respond to recent moves by Western countries to recognise the State of Palestine.
According to unnamed political sources cited by the channel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an unscheduled emergency meeting earlier in the day to discuss possible responses.
Notably, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich were not invited to take part.
Israeli PM signs deal to expand West Bank settlements isolating Jerusalem
Sources close to Ben Gvir accused Netanyahu of trying to soften demands for Israel to formally impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
Ben Gvir and his allies are reportedly pushing for a more hard-line approach, including speeding up steps to apply full Israeli control over the West Bank and ending the role of the Palestinian Authority.
In contrast, Netanyahu is said to be aiming for a more balanced response that would maintain the unity of his political coalition and avoid further tensions at home and abroad.

Sports Minister Miki Zohar is correct, as you cannot give those who have vowed to destroy you from the inception, to gain an even stronger foothold. 2000 Camp David Summit – Barak offered to withdraw from 97% of the West Bank and 100 percent of the Gaza Strip. In addition, he agreed to dismantle 63 isolated settlements. In exchange for the 3% annexation of the West Bank, Israel would increase the size of the Gaza territory by roughly a third. Barak also made previously unthinkable concessions on Jerusalem, agreeing that Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem would become the capital of… Read more »
Oh Squeek…..upside down, back to front again. Completely WRONG Palestinians, actually Hamas leaders have asked Israel for peace but the answer was always no. After asking Yasin was assassinated. Then Rantisi wanted peace with same answer and same result…….he was assassinated. Sinwar sent letter written in pure Hebrew but got no answer. What was the resistance supposed to do?? Since then Hamas has signed many peace deals but still assassination is the only response Netanyahu knows. It is now universally acknowledged and agreed Israel does not want peace as they have proven repeatedly. Perhaps you could advise Palestinians how to… Read more »
