The Palestinian group Hamas warned on Saturday of the Israeli government and illegal settler plans to force Palestinians out of their villages in the occupied West Bank, Anadolu news agency reported.

Senior Hamas figure Mahmoud Mardawi, in an official statement, said: We warn of the grave danger posed by the plans led by the extremist occupation government and illegal settler groups to displace the residents of Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank.

The occupation seeks to alter the demographic reality and complete its West Bank annexation plan, which has already resulted in the seizure of thousands of acres of Palestinian land over the years.”

Since the onset of Israel’s onslaught in Gaza on 7 October 2023, Israeli forces and illegal settlers have reportedly conducted over 16,663 attacks in the occupied West Bank displacing 28 Palestinian Bedouin communities, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.

Israeli sources estimate that more than 720,000 illegal settlers reside in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

At least 767 Palestinians have since been killed and 6,300 injured by Israeli army fire in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The current escalation follows a July opinion by the International Court of Justice which declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories “illegal” and called for the evacuation of all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

To mark 117 years since the Balfour Declaration which saw the then-UK Foreign Secretary, Lord Balfour, announcing his support for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, activists from Palestine Action have removed the bust of Israel’s first President Chaim Weizmann from a display at the University of Manchester.

On 2 November, Palestinians mark the 104th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration—a document that laid the groundwork for Israel’s creation.

On this day, Britain granted the land of Palestine, which it did not own, to the Zionist movement to establish a national home.

Amid dwindling support for the Palestinian struggle against the decades-long Israeli occupation, analysts believe that Palestinian chances to establish their own state are slimmer than ever.

On 10 October, Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, cast more doubts on the possibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state, saying it would highly likely mean a terror state a seven-minute (drive) from my own home, and from just about any place in Israel.

Following the Balfour Declaration, Arabs and Palestinians have been entangled in the decades-long conflict with Israel which has not officially ended yet, despite moves by some Arab countries to normalize their relations with the latter.

Yesterday, footage was captured of Israeli occupation bulldozers racing to demolish the homes of displaced Palestinian families in Rafah, southern Gaza.

Thousands who sought refuge here were either killed or displaced again after Israel’s military offensive in and around the city back in May, 2024.

The emergency polio vaccination campaign in Gaza entered its second phase on Saturday, though areas in northern Gaza, experiencing ongoing Israeli military offensives and a humanitarian crisis, were excluded from the campaign, Anadolu news agency reported.

A Gaza-based doctor involved in the vaccination campaign told Anadolu that the initial phase began two months ago, with plans to launch the second phase four weeks later in both northern Gaza and Gaza City. However, offensives in the north delayed the rollout, leading to a partial implementation.

According to one report, Israeli authorities have acquired 500 sniper rifles for distribution to West Bank Jewish settlers. It looks like the warning being sounded here should be taken seriously. Israel is doing what it has always done–violence and war crimes–and now it’s accelerating on a massive scale down an ever darkening spiral of crimes against humanity. Israeli society has become a place of self-multiplying vertices of hate and malice. I would not want my Jewish nieces and grand nieces to call such a place home, nor even to live in such a place.

I cannot remember in all the days on this earth a situation where a whole collection of so called “democratic countries ” have imposed such heavy censorship in the face of the utmost atrocities committed by a country that is no different in action from Nazi Germany . Hitler was unhinged/unstable and in need of psychiatrist help even his generals said so and were eliminated —NETANYAHU is all those things and the rabid wolves of his followers — no shame- no humanitarianism- no thought of the utmost suffering of the Palestinians they are not human in their following of the… Read more »
