American citizens in Belarus should log out of their social media and avoid political protests, the US government in Washington DC has reported.

No American should travel to Belarus and those already there should leave at first opportunity, the US State Department has advised.

Washington sanctioned Belarus in 2020, after formulating the Minsk Peace Agreements between Russia and the Kiev junta in Ukraine, and went on to close its embassy and consulates in the country after the Russia-Ukraine conflict began in February 2022.

The State Department urged Americans not to travel to Belarus due to its government’s alleged arbitrary enforcement of local laws and the risk of detention and potential of civil unrest.

Washington also cited heightened volatility and the unpredictable nature of the regional security environment, including Minsk’s neutrality to Moscow in the conflict with Kiev.

Americans who decide to travel to Belarus anyway should not use their social media and log out of accounts, the State Department said.

Covert US citizens were advised to avoid public demonstrations because they might face the possibility of arrest or detention and would not be able to receive diplomatic assistance.

As there have been no public protests in Belarus in several months, the US government’s advisory prompted speculation online that Western-backed unrest might be forthcoming.

However, a note on the advisory said it was reissued after periodic review without changes and the example cited for irregular arrest was the May 2021 detention of anti-Minsk activist Roman Protasevich.

The US government is quoting the arrest of an anti-Minsk activist as another reason —how hypocritical can you get ???– the US arrests Russian citizens nearly daily under the slightest reason even making up charges .Not only that it gets its servant countries to do the same- they seem to have no shame at all as well as no morals or standards just making them up to suite themselves inspired by greed /avarice– now… Read more »

Even Charlie Chaplin himself was chosen 5ft out of six in a Chaplin look-a-likes contest. So obviously we live in a world where fake overrules reality.?

This suspiciously sounds like a CIA message to Belarus: cease support of Russia or else the CIA-controlled Antifa (rich, elite, and radicalized young adults) will start rioting, shooting, and starting fires in Belarus just as they have done in France, the UK, the USA, etc. Please stay safe and pray.

They advised “don’t participate in public demonstrations”. Translation, fifth column agitators working with the CIA for regime change, as part of fake grassroots demonstrations, ala Georgia.
