Israeli drones dropped fire bombs on several areas in southern Lebanon on Monday, sparking large inferno’s across forests and agricultural fields, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).

The NNA reported that Israeli drones targeted the areas of Mreisseh and Qalaat Meis, located between the towns of Ansar and Zrarieh, before noon, igniting widespread blazes in dry fields and wooded areas.

Firefighting teams from Doueir, Zrarieh, and Kfarsir, assisted by specialized units, rushed to contain the flames, which spread rapidly over large tracts of land.

However, their efforts were hampered by the explosion of unexploded ordnance (UXO) left behind from previous Israeli bombardments, forcing some teams to retreat from affected zones.

The agency added that another fire broke out between Sharqiyah and Namiriyah, reportedly caused by a drone dropping incendiary materials, with civil defense crews later managing to bring the blaze under control.

Southern Lebanon remains littered with unexploded Israeli munitions from past conflicts, posing ongoing threats to civilians and first responders.

Despite the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in late November 2014, Israel has committed thousands of violations, including airspace incursions and cross-border strikes.

These hostile attacks have killed and injured thousands of Lebanese civilians and caused significant property damage.

The UN human rights office said Israel’s violations of the November 2024 ceasefire with Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of 114 civilians.

Spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan told Anadolu that the human rights office is monitoring Israeli airstrikes on buildings in southern villages and noted that civilian deaths have continued to rise since the ceasefire began.

He stressed that the ongoing deadly impact on civilians must stop immediately, saying that residents in the area have lived in instability and fear for more than two years.

He also called for urgent adherence to both the agreement to stop hostilities and international humanitarian law.

The Israeli army has killed more than 4,000 people and injured nearly 17,000 in its attacks on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and turned into a full-scale offensive in September 2024.

The ceasefire agreements that ended the recent conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon are at risk of collapse, according to a report by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

The report said it took nearly a year to reach the ceasefire in Lebanon and just over a month in Gaza. Now, both agreements have reached a critical point at the same time and could fall apart.

The Gaza ceasefire, which began on 10 October 2025, was part of a plan to resolve major issues following the return of living and surviving prisoners.

Other contentious matters, including the disarming of Hamas, were scheduled to be addressed later. However, ongoing disputes and the failure to return all deceased prisoners have raised questions about Gaza’s future.

The newspaper added that some senior US officials under President Donald Trump reportedly fear that his peace plan for the region, which is meant to formally end fighting between Israel and Hamas, may fail due to difficulties in implementing key parts.

Under the first stage of the plan, 20 living prisoners were returned. Israel currently controls around 53% of Gaza’s territory, including large agricultural areas, Rafah in the south, and parts of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, nearly two million Palestinians have been displaced to camps made up of tents and the ruins of cities that remain under Hamas control.

This is how those Zionist career murderers do it, kill civilians, destroy their food crops, and burn their lands to make it all unlivable for people. Targeting military sites is not so important when more victims can be assassinated this way.

Creating the Greater Israel, stretching from (Jordan) river to Euphrates) river into northern Saudi Arabia, swallowing up Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq all together.
