The U.S. military has responded to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) moves to block their forces in northeast Syria by obstructing two Russian patrols in the Al-Hasakah Governorate on Thursday.
According to reports from the Al-Hasakah countryside, the first Russian patrol that was blocked by the U.S. forces took place near Al-Dardara Bridge.
This high traffic bridge has been the scene of several road obstructions over the last few weeks, as both the Syrian Army and Russian forces have blocked the U.S. military at this imperative site in the Tal Tamr countryside.
Meanwhile, later in the day, the U.S. military once again made an attempt to block a Russian patrol by setting up a blockade near the border-city of Al-Malikiyah in northeast Al-Hasakah.
The incident in Al-Malikiyah was reportedly brief and was non-violent, but further increased the tensions between the Russian and U.S. forces in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.
Prior to these obstruction attempts by the U.S. forces, the Syrian Army blocked an American convoy that was trying to travel past the Dardara Bridge.
